Evan Macpherson is a queer artist from Tkaronto (Toronto), currently living and working in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). Using a multidisciplinary approach, he interweaves explorations of identity, faith and contemporary culture, appropriating present materials (social media, cartoons, plastics, interfaces) to reflect on the complexities of current post-digital landscapes while dreaming of potential new realities.
Operating as a joint experiment between performer and viewer, Invisible Objects of Desire offers both parties the opportunity to reflect on their visibility, desire and production/consumption through mutual engagement that challenges shared understandings of presence and relationship.
