An IN SITU performance inspired by the architecture of the Grand Sofar Hotel in Sofar, Lebanon. The performance took place as a result of a 3-week residency in September 2018, during an exhibition by British painter Tom Young; curated by artist Noor Haydar. The film So Far Away was exhibited as an installation.
Inspired by the exquisite and ghostly remnants of the Grand Sofar Hotel, the performance explores patriarchal relationships within the context of family and place; memory, history and death weave through narratives of deconstructed form.
